Want To Open And Pay A Bar Tab From Your iPhone?

That's right, there's an app for that. If you haven't already come across TabbedOut in the App Store, why not take a look? The application allows users to open and pay for a tab, all from the comfort of their iPhone. What could be more convenient?
Users simply download the application, add a credit or debit card, and make sure they take their iPhone along with them to any TabbedOut restaurant or bar - a list of which can be generated by location, in the app itself.
Once the bill arrives, users simply type in a TabbedOut code (which will be featured on the bill), and pay what they owe through the app - there's no need to worry about handing over your precious plastic ever again!
There is a downside to the application, and as you probably anticipated, it's to do with the price. While the app itself is free to download, ATX Innovation (the app's developer) does charge the user $0.99 for each TabbedOut transaction. And, remember fanboys: this is the price of an app such as Doodle Jump. It's by no means a drop in the ocean.
In addition to this, there's a good chance that your favorite bar won't accept payments through TabbedOut - indeed, the app is currently only available in Austin and Dallas, TX as well as Chico, CA. However, the app's developers have promised to add more cities to the list - and with a BlackBerry version of the app on its way, I think it's safe to assume that the developers won't be abandoning the app any time soon.
So, if you live in one of TabbedOut's supported cities, why not test out the app and see how it works? And, if you decide to, be sure to let us know how the transaction goes for you in the comments box at the bottom of this article! Thanks to SpringWise for the find.
