Printing From Your iPad Or iPhone For $99? Not Yet.

July 5, 2010

NOT YET

As a follow-up to our previous story, "Print Directly From Your iPhone Or iPad For Only $99", we have a very important update. Many trying to use the printers as advertised are coming up disappointed and now we know why. As mentioned in our previous story, HP's new All-In-One devices feature "ePrint" which is a internet connection feature allowing, among other things, the ability to send print jobs to the printer via email. One of the best examples of this is the HP Photosmart D110a, which is currently available on HP's website for $99 with free shipping. Many have jumped on this deal only to be confused and disappointed when they could not get the print-by-email feature to work. Although it is not documented on HP's site, Engadget readers who called HP support found out that this feature is part of a software update, which will not be available until the end of the month. So while it is true that you will be able to print from your iPhone and iPad, it now appears you will have to wait at least a month to try it.
