iPad: Keep Your Private Pics Private, With Private Pics Free

If you've got a few pictures in your iPad's photo library that you'd rather keep hidden from prying eyes, then Private Pics Free (for iPad), is the app for you.
The application, developed by David Earnest (the same guy who brought us Private Pics for iPhone back in 2008), allows users to add private pictures to the application. From there, the app keeps them under lock and key through PIN or password protection.
Users may add pictures to the app from a computer (through iTunes), or from the iPad's Photo Library. The free version of the application allows up to twelve photos in a single folder to be "privatized." However, a paid upgrade ($2.99) allows any number of pictures to be added to the app, across as many folders as the user desires.
So far, the application has received mixed reviews through iTunes - with many being pretty much bipolar in nature. Five-star reviews have been granted for the app's practicality and use, whereas single-star reviews have been submitted due to a variety of bugs which seems to plague the app. In addition to this, some users have cited poor user interface as being a key issue that needs to be addressed.
If you think this app might be worthy of a space on your iPad, be sure to check out the free version before spending $2.99 on a version that may not be all that great. I had no problems with Private Pics, but I'd still recommend a trial-run before downloading the paid version. And thanks to iPad Week for spotting this app!
