New Samsung Ad Attempts To Poke Fun At Apple, But Fails

July 23, 2010

Looks like the post-AntennaGate bickers haven't stopped yet. As you probably already know, nearly every company mentioned in Steve's presentation (and on Apple's Antenna Hall of Fame page) has bitten back - the latest being Samsung. An advertisement which appeared in today's edition of the Metro, a free UK newspaper, seems to openly mock the iPhone 4 antenna issue - something I'm sure you've all heard enough of already. You can check out the satirical image below, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments box at the end of this article. Perhaps Samsung has forgotten that its Omnia II handset is proven to suffer from signal failure when it's held in a certain way, much like the iPhone 4. Who knows? All I can say is that the Samsung Tocco pushed me towards the iPhone in the same way Windows Vista pushed me towards the Mac. And maybe, instead of producing sarcastic ads, Samsung should channel all of this creative energy into producing a genuinly good handset, rather than pumping out iPhone-wannabe after iPhone-wannabe. Just a suggestion.
