Worse Battery Performance On iOS 4? Steve says: "Nope"

July 9, 2010

As we all know, Apple CEO and tech guru Steve Jobs isn't shy when it comes to replying to his customers' emails - though he isn't exactly over-explanative, either. And the latest of his e-replies to hit the web seems to follow suit with his long running tradition of super-simple email-answers. The question came from Emails From Steve Jobs reader, Jarle, who was less than content with the recently altered battery life of his iOS 4-running iPhone 3GS. Here's what Jarle said:
Any reason battery performance on a 3GS running iOS4 should be worse than it was running OS3?
And Steve's reply, which bounced into Jarle's inbox a mere six minutes later, simply read:
Nope. Sent from my iPhone
Yet another classic Steve-ism, don't you think? But it does raise a serious question regarding power consumption on iPhone 3G and 3GS models running Apple's recently released iOS 4. Have you noticed any difference? It seems that a large group of users feel that their battery life has been significantly decreased since installing Apple's software update. And if you're one of those people, let us know in the comments box at the very end of this article. In the mean time, you can check out a screen shot of Steve's email reply below.
