ABC On The Go - Helps Kids Get Ready To Read

Don't you just love it when your shiny iDevice actually serves a purpose? I mean, we've got calls and SMS messages - and emails. The iPhone's camera is great (iPhone 4 handset only), and you can almost use the phone as a half-decent web-viewer. The screen's rather on the small side, but it can be done.
However, as many of you will know, the true power of your iDevice can be unlocked through one thing, and one thing only: apps. They make the world spin round. To quote Apple itself, there's an app for everything - or rather, "there's an app for that". And now, there's an app to help your kids get ready to read.
I kid you not, friends. It's called ABC On The Go, and the concept is very cool indeed - albeit simple.
The app itself displays letters of the alphabet in a colorful and easy-to-comprehend way. Pictures appertaining to each letter (e.g., an octopus, for the letter 'O') are also displayed.
iDevice-loving parents will adore this application. It's a great idea, and the app definitely has its uses - that's certain. I'd love to see an iPad version of this app (or perhaps universality), because it could really lend itself the iPad's glorious 9.7" HD screen. I mean, think Toy Story Read-Along. It could be that great.
I guess if you've got pre-school kids, and you don't own an iPad, ABC On The Go may just be the app for you. However, if you are lucky enough to own one of Apple's "magical and revolutionary" devices, it might be worthwhile to hold out a few weeks in the hope i-Itch (the app's developer) will release an iPad version of ABC, ASAP.
In the meantime, let us know if you're using the app (and how it's working for you) in the comments box at the bottom of this article! You can also check out some screenshots below.
