AT&T's Mark The Spot App Finally Goes Universal, Gets Retina Quality Graphics And More

August 18, 2010
AT&T has finally gotten around to releasing the universal version of their wireless feedback app, Mark the Spot, along with a couple more improvements. iPad users should be pleased with the new release, especially being a universal app. Universal apps tend to push developers to add iPhone 4 Retina display support seeing as the iPad has a very close resolution anyway, and it certainly makes keeping track of apps and updating easier. While the Network News and menu features were only added in the previous update, the decision to change the graphics for iPad and iPhone 4 has resulted in a slight change to the menu. The carousel main menu has a much less vibrant color scheme, likely due to user feedback. There isn't anything too special about the iPad portion of the app; it's just bigger. I will point out that it does work on iPad with Wi-Fi, as well as Wi-Fi + 3G. Non-3G iDevices can view AT&T network news and even report a problem they've experienced with their iPhone or 3G iPad, so the decision to support the other device is fairly logical. Viewing the map allows the user to move the indicator pin around, this way you can report areas that you know are bad without even being there. Next up will hopefully be the AT&T myWireless Mobile app to go universal. [gallery link="file" columns="4"]
