If you're a fan of IRC (Internet Relay Chat), and your choice mobile handset is an iPhone, then you should really check out Colloquy - a great app that lets users take IRC on the go. Not only does the app support multitasking under iOS 4 (with local notifications), but it also sends out push notifications when used with a push bouncer.
And, what's more, the popular app (which is priced at $1.99) has just received an update that allows the application to read out new messages when VoiceOver is enabled - making Colloquy all the more accessible.
You can check out a full list of new features (kindly provided in Colloquy's release notes) below:
Speak new messages and events when VoiceOver is enabled. Added setting to control multitasking timeout. Added setting to only alert for first private message. Added /safari, /aaway, /anick, /amsg, /ame and /aquit commands. Added support for auto away while multitasking. Made users that are away or idle display as dimmed out. Improved the auto-detection of URLs. Use white scrollbars for dark styles. Fixed the autocorrection setting. And, if you haven't yet checked out this great app, be sure to take a look at it in the App Store now. It comes with a $1.99 price-tag, but we're sure that IRC-fans will get their money's worth with Colloquy. Plus, with regular updates (such as this one) bouncing in all the time, customers can be sure that the developer isn't going to abandon the app any time soon.
