Fanboys Pay More Attention To iPad Ads?

If you're an iDevice developer looking to gain a bit of extra cash through mobile advertising, you might be interested to hear that iPad ads are more profitable than their iPhone counterparts - despite the obvious fact that a great many more iPhones are in general circulation.
Indeed, according to Mobclix, for the month of July iPad ads were "more lucrative" than iPhone spots. As TUAW notes, this means that advertisers paid more for their ads to reach iPad users over iPhone users.
However, there is cause for the effect: the study also states that iPad users are 10.7 times more likely to jump on an ad than iPhone users, who view the ad in standard definition, are. Additionally, as TechCrunch remarks, iPad users do spend three times longer engaging with their applications than iPhone users - meaning there's more time for the ads to appear on the screen.
So, if you're an iPhone developer looking to earn a bit of extra cash, this is something worth noting. Whether time will change the mobile advertising landscape (as more and more iPads are sold and used) or not remains to be seen. Yet, if this preliminary data is anything to go by, advertisers are going to be spending a whole lot more cash on iPad apps as the months go by.
