HBO, On The Go: Live Streaming Coming Soon?

August 20, 2010
If you're an iPad-toting HBO fan, you'll be glad to know that the network's Co-President (Eric Kessler) has stated that the channel will be streaming live to HBO GO customer iPads within six months. Indeed, as NewTeeVee reports, the service will mean fans of shows such as True Blood will be able to get their daily dose of primetime TV on the go. And, in addition to TV, customers will also be able to view the feature films of Universal, Fox and Warner Bros (Jurassic Park and Transformers 2 are both members of this club). However, if users wish to view the full catalogue of available online films, they'll have to pay for an additional service. A deal between HBO and Netflix (which already has an iPad app), would mean that HBO Go-ers would be able to live in movie paradise. Yet this is highly unlikely, so film-lovers may have to pay the extra cash to enjoy the movie streaming service they desire. We'll be posting when this service goes live, so be sure to check back for regular updates! And, in the meantime, be sure to let us know what you think of the already-released Netflix app in the comments box below.
