iControlPad Morphs Your iPhone Into A Portable Games Machine

Seriously, I think the cool-rating for the upcoming iControlPad is way, way off the chart. And, though I probably won't get my hands on one of the first 3,000 units, I do want to own my own iControlPad very soon indeed.
As you can see from the image above (which shows the first mass produced iControlPad), the device houses your iPhone horizontally, allowing users to take control of their favorite gaming apps using the classic controls we're all familiar with. And, what's more - iControlPad also includes a built-in battery which doubles the life of your iPhone while gaming.
According to Craig Rothwell's Twitter account, the first 3,000 units are expected to sell out fast. You can find out exactly when they're available by following Craig on Twitter - he's stated that his "Twitter feed will be the first place [they] post the ordering details," so be sure to follow him if you want in. Additionally, non-iPhone owners will be pleased to know that there are plans to make more versions of iControlPad which will be compatible with other handhelds.
It looks as if the interest in iControlPad is huge, so it may be a while until any of us can get our hands on the nifty device. In the meantime, be sure to check the iControlPad's History of Design video (embedded below) - and let us know whether you're thinking of buying one in the comments box at the bottom of this article! Thanks to Engadget for spotting this.
