Ninjatown Goes iOS 4 And Retina, Plus New Ninjas And Warp Bombs
August 31, 2010
The folks over at Venan Entertainment certainly want to keep their endless-climbing, martial arts fans alert and interested. Ninjatown: Trees Of Doom! receives iOS 4 multitasking support, Retina display imagery, new ninjas, and warp bombs to keep things up to snuff.
The game still works with iOS 3.0 or later but iDevices with iOS 4.0 or later will get the added advantage of resuming a game more quickly and seamlessly than ever before. Those sporting an iPhone 4 for your gaming needs will have the option to download the Retina Graphics Pack the first time you launch version 1.3. The Retina Graphics Pack is completely optional and you can download it later on, if you decide not to acquire it initially. To download it at any time, go to the Options section from the main menu.
I did notice a progress bar when downloading the pack within the Options section but there didn't seem to be one when I chose to download it when prompted before the main menu. Either tap No Thanks to the initial prompt and head to Options, or just be patient for the successful download confirmation message. It's a 10MB download, making it fairly quick on Wi-Fi but 3G may require a couple of minutes.
To accompany the previous iconic, original black Wee Ninja and orange Anti-Ninja, Venan has introduced a tree-hugging green Forest Ninja and ice cream-loving White Ninja to the clan. See if you're fortunate enough to find them lurking in the Trees of Doom. To change ninjas, simply poke (tap) them on the main menu, only after you've earned them, of course.
The new Warp Bombs are a way for those capable enough to reach great heights to be rewarded fairly for their efforts. Players who reach 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000 meters will be greeted with a Warp Bomb of the appropriate height once they meet their demise and need to start over. Grabbing this bomb will transport you to that height, so there isn't a need to struggle your way back.
"Surely this is it," you're thinking! "Surely they can't add anything else to this game!" Well, you are wrong, sir or madam! We have yet even MORE updates planned in the future, so spread the word, tell your friends, and keep those 5 star reviews rolling in!Ninjatown: Trees Of Doom! is still on sale for back to school with a price tag of $.99, 50% off of the regular going rate.
