Orcs & Elves Ain't Coming To An App Store Near You, Sorry

If you're a fan of id games, then we've got a bit of bad news for you. According to a recent report by TUAW, John Carmack (founder of id software) stated at last weekend's QuakeCon that id's older titles won't be ported to the iPhone.
This means that Orcs & Elves, the friend of many a gamer, will not be entering the gates of the App Store - despite the game's port to the Nintendo DS.
Instead, Carmack and co. are more interested in bringing new games to the iDevice platform - such as Rage, which will apparently blow your mind.
I guess it's not too bad a compromise: id software brings iDevice gamers new games, instead of simply porting the old ones we're already familiar with. So long as the new games look as great as Rage does, I can't imagine we'll hear many voices complaining.
