ESPN Fantasy Football Vs. Fantasy Football Monster: Fantasy Football App Head To Head
ESPN Fantasy Football 2010 ($4.99) If you drafted your league on ESPN there is a $4.99 app available that is currently in the top five paid apps overall. The first thing you can do is edit your team at anytime right on your iPhone as you see this weeks injury report or need to make a last second substitution. This also means you can add and drop players so you can be the first to add a player who had a huge week, or is a substitute for a major injury.
The app also offers live scoring for your team so you can track all day Sunday how your players are doing, and your current head to head matchup. You can also add push notifications to be alerted when one of your players scores or has an injury update. To move around your players you just tap on the button next to them, and all your bench players appear so you can switch them in.
If you tap on an individual player you get all the details about them. The app can be your football headquarters as well with live scoring of the game, and news throughout the week. The app is well designed with a smooth interface, though there are extra taps required to maneuver through the various menus. The app isn’t very different from last year’s version, and using any of the features is on the tedious side.
For $4.99 the app simply isn’t worth it because there are better options available.
Fantasy Football Monster '10 ($2.99) Some players may use multiple sites for their Fantasy fun, and luckily the major sites have their own iPhone apps. You can get the one above from ESPN, or the Yahoo app, and even CBS has their own app. There is another option as well with Fantasy Football Monster ’10.
The app allows you control your ESPN and Yahoo teams in one app for $2.99. If that doesn't sound better than the ESPN app right off the top, there’s more. The app is super smooth to use, and offers most of the same features listed above.
There is a superior UI with fewer screens to scroll through to get the same information, and make the same adjustments. You can also drag and drop your players in your line-up. The best part is that you can manage all your fantasy teams from one app easily moving between all your teams. The app lacks live scoring, and push notifications though.
For $2.99 Fantasy Football Monster ’10 is a should buy and your best bet for managing your Fantasy Football teams in 2010. If you just have Yahoo teams check out their free app, and if you have CBS teams try their free app especially since they’re not included in Fantasy Football Monster ‘10.
