iOS 4.2: Assign Each Contact A Unique Message Tone

September 17, 2010
The iOS 4.2 features keep flooding in, and we've got yet another one for you today, thanks to 9to5Mac. Once iOS 4.2 is released in November, iPhone owners will be able to assign a unique message tone to each of their contacts. This can be done through Settings (see the screenshots below), and will undoubtedly make communicating through your iPhone easier. It'll be handy to know exactly who's texting before you reach for your handset. Other new iPhone features include initiating a FaceTime call from within the Messages app, and a new Voice Memos icon. If you think you'll appreciate these upcoming features, let us know in the comments below! [gallery]
