Microsoft Developing iPad Apps?

Has Microsoft started developing iPad apps? It hasn't been confirmed yet, but Paul Thurrott (who knows his Windows-related stuff) has recently affirmed this suspicion through Twitter. Here's what Thurrot said yesterday:
Shhh.... It's true: Microsoft is working on iPad apps.
We've already seen Windows Live Messenger (for iPhone) hit the App Store recently. This latest rumor could be more concrete than any of us originally thought. Wouldn't a Bing for iPad app, or maybe Windows Messenger for iPad make sense? We'll be posting as soon as we hear more.
