Turn Your iPhone Into The Coolest Microscope Ever, For Around $10

Crabfu ArtWorks has done something very cool to their iPhone 4 handset. Instead of settling for just the 5MP digital camera and 720p HD camcorder, they have added an SE Mini 45X to the phone and turned it into a digital microscope. And, what's more, as you can see from the video below, the microscope works pretty well indeed.
To begin with, all of this cost a mere $5. However, as Crabfu ArtWorks states on its blog, the microscope used in the video (which attaches to the iPhone) has now increased in price, and can be bought for around $10-12.
However, it's a good microscope, and it appears to work well with the handset. Additionally, it comes with a couple of LEDs and some batteries. The downside is that the microscope attaches to a Body Glove Snap-On case, which retails on Amazon for $12, though you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere. And, if you can't, you can always try using a different case with the microscope.
One you've attached the microscope to the iPhone, you're good to go! Simply pointing and touching the screen (both to focus and shoot) works great with the micro-mod. The slide-to-zoom bar means you can zoom in on a magnified image with ease. From what I can see, this modification works brilliantly with the iPhone 4.
For more information, be sure to check out Crabfu ArtWork's blog, where you can view a series of sample images (included in the gallery below), and find out more information regarding the modification. Also, check out the embedded YouTube video below for a run through on how the micro-mod works.
