Dual Talk turns your iDevice into a virtual walkie talkie that works to speak with your next door neighbor or even someone across the globe. Utilizing Apple's push notification system, you can chat with anyone over Wi-Fi or the cellular network with no recurring charges.
The app is just as simple to operate as a real handheld two-way radio system. Once you've established a connection with someone, tap and hold the big red button at the bottom, speak, and then release to send your message. After receiving your message, the other party simply does the same to respond. A red light next to a contact's name and email address indicates that person is offline, or disconnected. When you send them a request to chat, the light will turn green once they've accepted and connected.
To get started, all you need to do is perform a simple free registration and invite your friends via email. The menu shows your name and registered email address, plus how many people have accepted your invitation to get involved and join Dual Talk.
Dual Talk is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.1 or later. Native language support for both English and French. Dual Talk works best sending brief messages using a reliable connection.
