Porn Service Excited By FaceTime For Mac's Release

October 22, 2010
A while ago, we told you about iP4Play: a porn service which allows customers to participate in FaceTime video sex chats, right from their iPhone handsets. Within five days, the service reportedly had over 1,000 "satisfied" customers, establishing iP4Play as the major player in the FaceTime-powered porn industry. Up until a couple of days ago, FaceTime was a feature only available to iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4G) devices. Then, at Apple's "Back to the Mac" special event, Steve announced something magnificent: FaceTime for Mac, a new Mac OS X application which is available now. As you might expect, FaceTime for Mac allows Mac OS X users to participate in FaceTime calls with iPhone, iPod touch, and other users of the Mac OS X application. Following its release, many have downloaded and tried the app, including Travis Falstad (managing director of iP4Play), who is excited by the prospects of FaceTime for Mac. In an interview with Cult of Mac, he explained:
The news [of FaceTime for Mac's release] certainly helps the iP4Play service as it increases our addressable market overnight by four to five times. Since we’re already entrenched with early adopters and users of FaceTime on the iPhone 4 and new iPod Touch, this increasingly helps and enables them to experience our lovely women at their desktops or laptops on larger displays.
Ironically, now that iP4Play is thoroughly established, everything Apple does to push FaceTime onto new platforms can only serve to promote the FaceTime-powered porn service. When asked if he thought Steve Jobs could keep the App Store "porn free," Travis Falstad stated:
We certainly respect Steve Jobs’ decision to keep porn out of the app store but it would be a stretch to make Apple devices “porn free” unless he wanted to obstruct their access to porn on the Internet. Millions of Mac users view porn daily on their Macs and we only think that number grows with the addition of FaceTime on the Mac in conjunction with the iP4Play experience.
You can check out the full interview by heading over to Cult of Mac's site. It's definitely worth taking a look at. Personally, I think there are always going to be services like iP4Play offering FaceTime-powered porn services, regardless of how Steve feels about it. Are you a fan of iP4Play?
