Special Event: Apple Announces The Mac App Store

October 20, 2010
Everyone knows how much the App Store has made iDevices a smashing success. There are so many features, and yet no other platform has yet created an app distribution method like the App Store for iOS. Apple has decided to bring this efficient, convenient, and successsful venture to the Mac OS X platform for your desktops and portables. The Mac App Store is going to be very similar to what we are accustomed to now. Instead of using iTunes, Apple has created a Mac App Store app. There's also going to be an app called LaunchPad. LaunchPad gives Mac OS X the same app organization and layout as on your iDevice. • Apps are as simple and quick as a download away • Apps can be re-downloaded for free on authorized computers • Apps will be automatically tracked for updates, and updating is just as simple as in iTunes • Apps will be available in full-screen • Apps will be available in free and paid versions • Apps will be authorized to run on all of your personal Mac OS X computers, with probably a set number of authorizations, as it is now. • The Mac App Store will be divided into the same types of categories The Mac App Store will launch in 90 days and be available for Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or later. Is this awesome or what? [gallery link="file"]
