Recently, The Economist launched an iPhone and iPad application, both of which are currently available in the App Store for free.
The applications feature the content of each week's publication, all of which are cached for offline reading. Additionally, an "audio edition" of The Economist is included with each issue. This allows users of the app to choose whether they'd like to read the magazine themselves, or have it read to them by professional newscasters. It's a great feature, and one many users of the app will undoubtedly appreciate.
While users are given free access to the Editor's weekly selection of must-read articles, access to the magazine's full content is made available through a subscription service. A year's subscription costs $110 in the US, or users can pay a quarterly fee of $29. Furthermore, individual issues can also be purchased within the application ($5.99 each).
So, what are you waiting for? Head over to the App Store, and take a look at The Economist's recently released iPhone and iPad apps now! And, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
