iAds In Europe: Partners To Be Confirmed Soon?

November 15, 2010
According to a recent article by the Financial Times, Apple is set to confirm its European iAd partners this week, following a "mixed reception" to the new service. Apparently, the price of advertising via Apple's iAd service is very high. Furthermore, one media agency's digital chief has labeled Apple as being "a pain to deal with." Another simply noted: "Apple is in a weaker position than you'd think." The Financial Times notes:
The European launch will allow developers and advertisers in the region to target iPhone users the same way as their peers have in the US. Early adopters could include L’Oréal, Renault and Nestlé, with two or three campaigns running on iPhone and iPod touch apps in early December. Most will not run until next year, however.
Many will be pleased to learn that Apple is gradually nearing the European launch of its iAd service. The company has already postponed the launch twice. We'll be reporting on the European launch of iAd when more news becomes available. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on Apple's mobile advertising saga in the comments below. And, thanks to 9to5Mac for spotting this!
