Jailbreak Only: Cydia Is Ready For iOS 4.2

November 11, 2010
According to a recent Twitter update from @chpwn, Cydia is now ready for iOS 4.2 ahead of the software update's general release. The news came around twelve hours ago, after one Twitter user asked the jailbreak developer:
how's Cydia for iOS 4.2 Going....! #Thanks "For Just Reading Me"
To which chpwn replied:
In ready position.
Not long ago, we told you saurik and chpwn had been "burning the midnight oil," preparing Cydia for iOS 4.2. Besides iOS 4.2 support, the updated version of Cydia will also bring improved support for the iPad, among other changes. We're not sure exactly when iOS 4.2 will be released, but the word on the street is that it's going to go live very soon indeed. As Redmond Pie reports, once the software update has been released to the public, we'll have to wait a while for a suitable jailbreak tool to be updated. However, once this has been achieved, Cydia will be ready - thanks to the efforts of saurik and chpwn. We'll keep you posted on iOS 4.2's release, so be sure to check back with us to hear when it goes live. And, don't forget: you can follow us on Twitter @AppAdvice, too!
