Namco Is Preparing To Bring Splatterhouse To iOS And Other Mobile Platforms
November 12, 2010
Fans of the gory classic 1988 arcade slasher Splatterhouse are in for a treat. Namco is preparing to release a mobile device port of this hit title in less than a week's time.
The side-scroller Splatterhouse is the story of a psychology student, Rick, who battles through a horde of monsters in West Mansion. Rick's determination to save his girlfriend, Jennifer, was assisted by the powers of an ancient relic, the Terror Mask, which appears to have been inspired by Jason's hockey mask from the 1980 horror flick Friday the 13th. The game does contain plenty of violence and brutality, so it will be rated and recommended for mature audiences only.
Even though it will be released for iOS, Java, BREW, RIM, and Windows Mobile, the iPhone and iPod touch version will feature an exclusive Splatter Rush Mode. Splatter Rush Mode is a special survival gameplay, where Rick must battle endless waves of monsters approaching him. All versions will include six different weapons, and take you through seven thrilling stages.
Splatterhouse for mobile platforms will be released November 18th, just five days before its launch on Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Namco will be making the game available in the App Store for $2.99 / €2.39 / £1.79.
