2D Boy Is Bringing The World Of Goo To Your iPad Very Soon

November 22, 2010
2D Boy will be porting their successful physics-puzzler, World of Goo, to the wonders of Apple's iOS-based tablet. As noted in a blog post earlier today, the game is finished up and only awaits Apple's team of App Store app experts to approve it. The iPad port will sport the same gooey construction fun of the Wii and personal computer versions. In fact, World of Goo can recognize up to 11 simultaneous touches, so maybe you'll need to get your big toe involved? Or perhaps, a bit more logical would be 2D Boys comment of:
Which means you can play two handed, with friends, an animal, anything up to eleven fleshy things touching the screen.
When asked if the team plans on releasing an iPhone and iPod touch version, their response was, "maybe." Why the reluctance? Performance for older iDevices, which lack the speed of Apple's A4 mobile CPU.
We don’t want to release something if it doesn’t run absolutely buttery smooth.
What is World of Goo, you might ask? It's a game of puzzle solving. Your objective: take command to unite the Goo Balls, and help them make their way to the exit. Each Goo Ball type has different attributes, allowing them to construct towers, bridges, giant balls, levers, cranes, and more. With a number of unique chapters and levels, including varying environments and music, the progression shall never be boring. It's unclear whether the game will house all of the features from the non-mobile versions, but nothing leads us to think it doesn't. The only significant piece of information we lack thus far, a price. [gallery link="file"]
