Apple: Flipboard Is "iPad App Of The Year"

Apple has named Flipboard the "iPad app of the year," as part of its iTunes Rewind 2010 section in the App Store.
The new section, which shows off this year's "hot trends in apps," premiered yesterday. While Apple displays the top paid, free, and grossing iOS applications within the section, it also features four "apps of the year." These are: Plants vs. Zombies, Hipstamtic, Osmos and Flipboard. As the latter is an iPad-only application, it is highlighted as being Apple's "iPad app of the year."
If you haven't heard of Flipboard, this free iPad app transforms news and social media into a digital magazine format, for users to read and "flip" through. Users can integrate their Facebook and Twitter accounts, too, and check them both out within the app.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Flipboard. Are you? Or, are you more excited about TweetMag? Let us know in the comments.
