AppAdvice has teamed up with Malmo App Collective in order to offer you a chance to win one of ten (10) promo codes for Cafe Games for iPad ($1.99).
Cafe Games is a digital recreation of some simple but enjoyable classic board games. Although the original rules have been preserved, each game offers its own customization to adapt to the players' preferences and gameplay styles. The games sport old-fashioned arcade-style graphics and a full set of instructions. Cafe Games includes Backgammon, Four, Hex, and Peg. Swipe left or right on the main screen to choose your game.
Backgammon - Something that seems like more of a mashup of games like Checkers, Chess, and dice rolling, Backgammon's general concept is to strategically move your pieces around the game board in the ultimate goal of removing them by reaching the end, known as bearing off, before your opponent can do the same.
Four - Also known as Four-in-a-Line or Connect Four, this is a match-4 title. It's a two-player game where each player is assigned a unique color for their game pieces. Taking turns, each player will place a piece in one of the columns. The objective: match-4 of your pieces in a row diagonally, horizontally, or vertically without being blocked by your opponent.
Hex - Played on a 11x11 rhombus, each of two players is designated a different color and provided two sides of the game board opposite one another. Players take turns placing pieces on the cells of the board. The goal is to link your two sides with a chain of your pieces. You can place your pieces anywhere but they must form a linked chain in the end to win.
Peg - A mix of Checkers and Solitaire, which makes it reasonable to also be referred as Peg Solitaire and just Solitaire in the U.K. You'll need to 'jump' pegs to eliminate them from the game board. Like Solitaire, it is a single-player game and requires very strategic moves to eliminate all of the items, well, this game will have a single peg left in the center if you do succeed.
