AppAdvice has teamed up with Wet Nose Design in order to offer you a chance to win one of five (5) promo codes for Elf Cam for iPhone and iPod touch ($1.99).
What a time of year Christmas can be. The hustle and bustle of finding those perfect gifts, keeping kids occupied as they countdown the days, and even a helping hand to keep the little ones believing in the jolly, old, bearded guy.
Elf Cam has a North Pole finder, naughty and nice list, Ask an Elf Q&A, Dear Santa letter writing section, Elf Updates, and Christmas countdown timer. While the app is primarily directed to those tech-savvy children, grandchildren, etc; Elf Cam offers the restricted to grown-ups only area to make the magic happen.
To access the adults only section, tap on the protected red button. The first time you access this area, you'll be prompted to create a password. Once inside, you can manage all of the app features, including the exclusive Santa captured night-vision assisted video.
Elf Updates and the Ask an Elf contain enjoyable video responses to common Christmas time questions, all from the seemingly public relations elf, Dozey Toes. As much as the kids will enjoy the other features, let's get down to making your custom video evidence of Santa making "the drop."
What you'll need: An iDevice and a photo of a room of your home. A decorated fireplace or the room with your Christmas tree is probably best. An iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, 3rd generation iPod touch, or later is recommended for best quality. You can either have Santa doing the classic coming out of the chimney routine or watch Santa's magic as he appears to deliver the goods.
iPhone users can either take a current photo or use one from their photo library. In the Grown Ups section, go to the Elf Cams video control and tap either Fireplace or Room. Now, take or import your photo, adjust Santa's position with one finger, including resizing him with two-finger pinch and un-pinch, and finally tap the play button in the top-right to render it.
The video is set by default to become available in the Elf Updates section on December 25th at 12:00 AM, but this can be changed. You can also use the Elf Cam video control to export the video to your iDevice Camera Roll to be shared via email, YouTube, etc.
