A Chance To Win A Save The Spheres Promo Code With A Retweet Or Comment
December 4, 2010
AppAdvice has teamed up with Spyral Games in order to offer you a chance to win one of five (5) promo codes for Save the Spheres for iPhone and iPod touch ($.99).
For those who have a passion for the classic style arcade graphics and gameplay, Save the Spheres offers a variety of play surrounding a simple but addictive objective. There are four game types that allow you to save the spheres from destruction, plus a free play mode.
Avoid all cubes by moving quickly around the screen. To move your sphere, simply tap on the desired destination location and your round little friend will quickly move there. On entry, cubes move very fast, so be extremely alert. As they slow down, they can still deflect each other, so it becomes quite hectic.
Defending yourself is one of the tougher modes, in my opinion. You can't move your sphere, but rather need to destroy all of those destructive cubic enemies. Tap on a cube to blast it to dust. Cubes enter in sets, and each set is seemingly timed, so don't get behind. Fast-paced cubes were very difficult for me to pinpoint in my taps, so be quick but calm and accurate.
In Shift, your duties include manipulating the cubes, instead of the sphere. The sphere will make its way around the gameplay area while you attempt to move four cubes in a struggle to remain out of the sphere's path. Arrows on the cubes indicate which direction, up and down or left and right, that the cubes can be drug.
Intercept those cubes in an aggressively offensive play. Drag the sphere around to collide and destroy the cubes. Each cube has a countdown timer inside. If you don't destroy your enemy before the clock runs out, it will explode and it's game over for you. As an added obstacle, there are occasional red "skull" cubes, where you'll need to avoid them at all costs.
Tumble is the free play mode. No scores, no timers, and no objectives. Tilt your iDevice to change the direction of gravity, or use your finger to drag the sphere around like an angry billiard ball. Tapping the "+" sign adds cubes to the gameplay area.
If you'd like to get a taste of the arcade excitement, try Save the Spheres LITE. This trimmed down free version includes the Avoid and Defend modes, plus the competitive OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements.
