Epic Games has released Infinity Blade. The highly anticipated iOS game is now available to purchase and download in the U.S. App Store.
The application is currently priced at $5.99, however, it is a universal app - meaning the one app will play natively on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Unfortunately, Infinity Blade is not compatible with the iPhone 3G.
According to a variety of reports and reviews already available, Infinity Blade takes a mere 30 minutes to complete. The aim of the game is to progress through an ancient citadel, and to challenge (and hopefully defeat) the "God King," who rules the land "with an iron fist."
Unfortunately, players will most likely fail to defeat the God King the first time around. Now, here's where things get interesting.
Once this happens, the game skips ahead many years, until your son returns to the citadel, to challenge the God King. This new character comes complete with all the stats your previous character earned, making it slightly easier to defeat the God King. Regardless of this, the task may span a great many generations.
Infinity Blade looks amazing on the iPhone 4, as it comes Retina-optimized. Furthermore, it already has support for Game Center (achievements), and promises to include an online multiplayer feature (via Game Center) in a future update.
We'll have a review of Infinity Blade soon. Until then, let us know your thoughts on this breathtaking app in the comments below.
