Google Latitude for iOS is now available in the App Store. This follows the application's appearance in the Japanese App Store last week, and its subsequent removal. The app, which is free, allows users to share their location in the background, and to view their friends' locations as well. As Google notes in the app's release notes:
With Google Latitude, see where your friends are right now. Latitude lets you stay in touch with your friends and family by making it easy to share where you are and see each other on a map.Google Latitude is currently only available for iPhone 3GS and 4 owners, running any version of iOS 4. While "Google Latitude" fans can use the iOS application to track down friends, users can also access the service online, at http://google.com/latitude. So, what are you waiting for? Head over to the App Store, and download Google Latitude now. If you do, be sure to post your thoughts on the app in the comments below.
