According to a recent report, a "booster pack" for the popular iOS game, Infinity Blade, is set to be released next week as a free update.
In an interview with Joystiq, Donald Mustard of Chair Entertainment (the subsidiary of Epic Games that developed Infinity Blade) stated that new content for the game is coming next week.
Specifically, "five new weapons, five new shields, five new helmets and a new armor set" will arrive with the update - meaning the maximum level players will be able to attain will be level 45. Additionally, a new enemy will appear following the update, called the Marrow Fiend (see above image).
Chair Entertainment also noted that another update is coming in January. According to Mr. Mustard, following the January update:
There will be new areas to go to, the story will be evolving a little more as you see what the God King is really up to, and we're going to let people go down into the dungeons. For high-level players especially, you'll start to find some enemies that make the [current] enemies look like nothing.Furthermore, a future update will bring an online multiplayer mode (via Game Center) to Infinity Blade. Unfortunately, Chair refused to comment on this upcoming feature - stating only that it is "coming soon." We'll keep you posted on all the Infinity Blade news as it becomes available. In the meantime, feel free to post your thoughts on this epic iOS game in the comments below.
