The Quickoffice development team must have pulled some all-nighters, as they were able to release their more PowerPoint friendly Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for iPad update before the holidays. A status update noted in the v1.2 feature list from about two weeks ago claimed the plans for this upgrade were for January 2011. Admirably making it before the Christmas break, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for iPad v2.0 adds PowerPoint file manipulation plus plenty more.
Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for iPad now features:
• PowerPoint 2003 – create, edit, view & save
• PowerPoint 2007 - view
• Extensive text formatting – font type, colors, size, underline/italics, bold
• View in landscape or portrait view
• Insert new slides & drag multiple slides to change presentation order
• Set paragraph alignment & increase/decrease indention levels
• View presentations in slide show mode & on external monitor
• Insert/edit new text boxes
• Graphical editing/manipulation – insert common shapes, text box, images from local directories, rotate/resize objects, change object layering order
• Create/modify/indent bulleted list
