Writings For iPad Arrives Soon, Promos Available
December 16, 2010
The number of writing apps for the iPad will soon grow by one. Writings is a new app debuting in the App Store on Friday, December 17.
Created by Ludovico Rossi and Vito Modena, Writings is a no nonsense writing tool which focuses on the user experience above everything else. If you want more features, you will probably be happier with Apple’s own Pages app. However, if you are looking for simplicity, Writings is worth checking out.
The app is a plain text editor which attempts to give you a distraction-free writing environment. But the word “plain” should not fool you, Writings is packed full of essential tools.
You can choose from a selection of page widths, fonts, sizes, and colors to make your finished product unique to your tastes. Plus, it offers real time character, word, and line counts. Each document is beautifully arranged as if sitting on a well-worn wooden desk. You move between documents simply by swiping your finger.
The app also includes full TextExpander support.
Documents are easily shared through DropBox, iTunes, or e-mail.
