The highly talented jailbreak developer, Erica Sadun, has recently confirmed that it is possible to watch Twit.tv on an Apple TV, via AirFlick.
In response to a question from one of Sadun's fans, she answered:
Yes. Enter the following into the command line: ffmpeg -i http://bglive-a.bitgravity.com/twit/live/low -f mpegts -acodec libfaac -ab 96k -vcodec libx264 -vpre medium -b 1024 -threads 2 pipe:1 | mediastreamsegmenter -f /tmp/airplay -D Wait about 30 seconds until /tmp/airplay has 3 fileSequence files and a prog_index file. Then paste the following into AirFlick: http://YOUR-IP-ADDRESS/prog_index.m3u8, obviously using a real IP address for your local system.Sadun's AirFlick allows users to "stream data outside of iTunes" in any format, from a Mac computer to an Apple TV (2G) device. It's currently available to download from Sadun's site in a free, ad-supported version. If you own an Apple TV, you'll undoubtedly appreciate the work Erica Sadun is doing.
