January 13, 2011
Still looking for an iPad app that lets you create graphics-rich documents? Look no further than the Pages+ app by TopLineSoft Systems.
Pages+ (not to be confused with Apple’s own Pages app) brings together four types of graphics in one app. These include: photos, clipart, text, and finger drawing. Each can be positioned, scaled and rotated based on personal tastes.
The end results are amazing looking presentations, flyers, booklets, notes, sketches, or charts.
Features include:
Pages+ lives up to its promises. But, because there is no instruction manual, it takes some getting used to. The developers would be wise to include a few example documents in a future app update. Plus, it would be even better with DropBox integration. For right now, the best learning tool is this video:
- The App provides capabilities to create/manage any number of multi-page documents.
- Support for both portrait and landscape page orientations and ability to mix pages with both orientations in one document.
- Adding, moving, resizing and rotating operations for photos, clipart and text blocks on pages.
- Text color, alignment and font settings for text blocks with support of all fonts available on iPad.
- Document-wide page settings of background color and picture.
- Options to set external picture for background or select from the list of 32 prepackaged backgrounds. Three available modes of background picture layout: "Center", "Scale to Page" and "Tiles".
- Finger-drawing on top of pages using any number of different pen colors and sizes.
- Feature of saving document pages to iPad area "Saved Photos" for all or selected pages of a document.
- Email feature for document pages.
- Full-screen document viewer with animated paging on finger-swiping.
Pages+ is available for $4.99 in the App Store.
