As Special Media Event Looms, Verizon Bites Back At AT&T

January 11, 2011
Verizon has responded to AT&T's claims that Verizon iPhone users will be trapped in the "slow lane." Yesterday, AT&T PR boss Larry Solomon stated that "the iPhone is built for speed, but that’s not what you get with a CDMA phone." He added: "I’m not sure iPhone users are ready for life in the slow lane." According to The New York Times, Verizon has responded to this statement. Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson is quoted as saying: "it must be backwards day at AT&T." According to the NYT, he added:
AT&T is known for a lot of things, but network quality is not one of them. Typically companies try to call attention to their strongest suit.
Verizon's "special media event" is set to begin today, at 11:00 EST. Many expect the company to announce a Verizon iPhone at the event. We'll keep you updated on all the Verizon iPhone news as it becomes available, so check back for updates. And, if you have an opinion on this war of words, post it in the comments below.
