Super Bowl Commercial: Motorola Attempts To Take A Bite Out Of The Apple, Again

January 31, 2011
Motorola is attempting to take another jab at Apple in a commercial that will air during the Super Bowl. The advertisement shows off Motorola's Android Honeycomb tablet, the Xoom. Dubbed "Goodbye 1984," the ad labels Apple as being a controlling, totalitarian force under which we all live, and contains allusions to the Super Bowl ad Apple ran in 1984, as well as to George Orwell's novel (of the same name).
2011 looks a lot like 1984. One authority. One design. One way to work. It’s time for more choices. It’s time to explore. It’s time to live a free life.
Cue Motorola's Android OS powered tablet, it supposedly gives users access to a free, "open" digital world. We've embedded a teaser below for you to take a look at. Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments.
