The popular destination finding iOS application, Where To?, has recently been updated. Now, fans of the application can take advantage of "Where To? 3D"; an impressive augmented reality mode.
As FutureTap explains in the application's release notes:
Explore a stunning new way of visualization with Where To? 3D (available via In-App-Purchase, free trial available). Your points of interest will be displayed on top of reality. It‘s more intuitive than ever to check out nearby locations. The price of "Where To? 3D" is $0.99, which isn't expensive. However, some may be annoyed that FutureTap didn't offer the feature for free, and this is understandable. If you purchase "Where To? 3D," we don't think you'll be disappointed. Its augmented reality feature is fine tuned, and works well. As FutureTap explains:
Our solution: First, results are displayed in a real 3D world and their size and stacking order depends on the distance. Then, you can zoom in and out using the gestures already known from the map: Double-tap to zoom in, two-finger-tap to zoom out, pinch for fine grained zooming. Zooming of course affects the camera picture as well.Try it out, and let us know your thoughts in the comments. And, if you don't already own Where To?, you can get it in the App Store for the price of $2.99.
