Zynga Acquires Area/Code, Developer Of Drop7

Zynga has recently acquired Area/Code, developer of the popular iOS game, Drop7. Area/Code has now been renamed "Zynga New York," as confirmed in an article posted on Area/Code's blog.
Area/Code said:
We are excited to announce that, as of today, the Area/Code team will be joining Zynga. Area/Code Games is now Zynga New York [...] Zynga is the undisputed leader of an industry in the midst of an important transition. Social games have demonstrated massive popularity and commercial success even as they are still developing; Area/Code’s ideas, passion and experience will now participate in that development.Last year, Zynga acquired Newtoy (developer of Words With Friends). It appears the revenue brought in by Zynga's famous Facebook games is allowing the company to expand into the world of iOS. We'll let you know when Zynga makes its next purchase, so stay tuned.
