Apple Job Listing Hints At "Actual" Apple Television?

February 20, 2011
A recent Apple job listing hints that the company may be considering developing an "actual" television device - not just another set top box. The speculated device could feature a "standalone display," according to the job listing, or maybe even integrate Apple TV within HDTVs. Here's the post:

Currently, Apple's set top box - Apple TV - requires users to hook up the device to a "standalone display," such as an HDTV. However, the speculated device hinted at in the job listing could combine Apple TV within HDTVs, making an "all in one" iMac style product. Or, the job listing could hint at Apple's very own "connected" TV - the likes of which many other companies are rapidly piling into shops everywhere. We should remember that this is Apple, so there's going to be something "magical and revolutionary" about the product, too (we hope). However, we should also remember that this is all pure speculation. While an "all in one" Apple Television device would be nice, this is just a rumor, so don't get your hopes up just yet. We'll keep you posted. [via 9to5Mac]
