Deutsche Telekom: NFC Capable iPhone Coming In 2011

February 16, 2011
Deutsche Telekom recently noted that an NFC capable iPhone will arrive in 2011. The news was revealed at the company's Mobile World Congress press conference, yesterday. According to Phone Scoop, Deutsche Telekom "expects NFC phones in 2011 from Apple, Samsung in Q2, and RIM & LG in Q3." Following this, a "full payment system" will reportedly launch in 2012. Many of us are expecting an NFC capable iPhone to be announced in June, at Apple's annual WWDC event. However, as of this moment, nothing has been confirmed by the company. Personally, I think an NFC capable iPhone will very likely launch in 2011. After hiring an NFC expert back in August last year, various rumors have circulated surrounding an NFC capable iPhone 5. Most recently, VISA started testing an NFC powered mobile payment system in Europe, with modified, NFC capable iPhone handsets. This may signal the service's upcoming launch in Europe, too. Would you appreciate an NFC capable iPhone 5? Let us know in the comments.
