Jailbreak Only: Easily Restore Your Cydia Apps, With AptBackup

February 17, 2011
AptBackup is a handy, free jailbreak application that easily allows users to recover Cydia apps after having restored an iOS device via iTunes. One of the biggest problems jailbroken iOS device owners face, is having to restore their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This is because the restore wipes your device clean - removing the jailbreak, and any applications (or tweaks) you might have installed via Cydia. While App Store applications can be synced via iTunes, jailbroken apps previously had to be re-installed via the Cydia app - something that was a slow and painful process. However, users can now "back up" their jailbroken apps, kind of, using AptBackup - which is available via the BigBossRepo. In order to back up your applications using the app, simply launch it, and hit "back up." Once you've restored your device (via iTunes), download the app again, and hit "restore." AptBackup will restore your Cydia apps to your iOS device. If you're interested in this app, take a look at the video below. Alternatively, search for "AptBackup" in Cydia, and download the app yourself. As mentioned, it's available for free via the BigBossRepo.
