New MacBook Pro Line To Feature FaceTime HD?

February 23, 2011
Apple is expected to launch a new line of MacBook Pro laptops any day now. According to a supposed photograph of a new MacBook Pro's box, the laptop will support "FaceTime HD." As you can see in the image below, Apple mentions "FaceTime HD" in a list of the new MacBook Pro's technical specifications.

Could the new MacBook Pro models support 720p FaceTime chats? If so, is this a feature that could come to iOS devices, too? The iPhone 4 and fourth generation iPod touch both include rear facing cameras that support HD video recording at 720p. Perhaps Apple will enable this feature in a future version of the iOS. Who knows? Many are expecting the new MacBook Pro models to arrive tomorrow, meaning we should hopefully get to the bottom of the "FaceTime HD" mystery soon. In the meantime, feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below. [via 9to5Mac]
