ReaddleDocs For iPhone Gains AirPrint Support, Expanded Storage Options, And More
February 17, 2011
The latest version of ReaddleDocs for iPhone and iPod touch includes plenty of feature additions and improvements from more storage and syncing options to a new Night Mode.
Because it is a document reader after all, I'll begin by mentioning that Readdle has improved the PDF engine. The new engine has smoother scrolling and supports a number of different PDF annotations. Along with the enhanced performance, ReaddleDocs v2.3 adds a Night Mode for more comfortable low-light reading. Night Mode dims the screen by about 50%, and it can be enabled or disabled through the Actions menu while viewing a document.
In the case of importing and sharing documents, ReaddleDocs v2.3 is equipped with AirPrint wireless printing support and a web page saving ability. The new Browser feature works as simple as navigating to a web page with text and graphics (nothing with Flash, etc), and tapping on the Save button at the bottom. Save the page as a HTML, web archive, or PDF document for offline viewing and sharing.
The final addition to ReaddleDocs is two-way synchronization with WebDAV storage solutions and additional online storage support. ReaddleDocs v2.3 adds support for SugarSync, general FTP, and secure FTP connections. Although Dropbox and SugarSync have free account options, Readdle is now offering their own free Readdle Storage service with 512MB of space.
ReaddleDocs is designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or later. Background multitasking requires iOS 4.0 or later. Get your copy in the App Store for $4.99.
