Steve Jobs Is Still Running Apple, From His Living Room

February 11, 2011
Steve Jobs, Apple's fearless leader, is still running the company while on his medical leave of absence - apparently, from his living room. Last month, the tech world reeled when the news of Steve Jobs' medical leave hit the Web. Apple stock plummeted momentarily, before regaining some ground. And, many of us feared the worst for Apple's CEO, who underwent an operation for pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago. Now, The Wall Street Journal reports that Steve Jobs is still active within the company - that he is in fact "calling the shots from home."
Steve Jobs is staying closely involved in the company's strategic decisions and product development, according to people familiar with the matter. The 55-year-old Mr. Jobs, whose ailment hasn't been disclosed, has been taking business meetings at home and on the phone, these people said.
This is great news, right? I mean, if we're to believe the WSJ's sources, Steve is obviously well enough to keep on working, he's even been spotted around Cupertino:
[Steve] has been seen on Apple's Cupertino, Calif., campus and in public in Palo Alto, Calif., with a company executive, said people familiar with the matter.
Hopefully, we'll be seeing Steve Jobs back at Apple HQ permanently in no time at all. Until then, here's wishing you a speedy recovery, Steve!
