A Chance To Win A SporTracker Promo Code With A Retweet Or Comment

March 1, 2011
AppAdvice has teamed up with SporTracker Limited in order to offer you a chance to win one of ten (10) promo codes for SporTracker for iPhone ($4.99). SporTracker is a full-featured fitness app that can also monitor your heartbeat with the upcoming M-SporTracker armband. The app is designed to be used for activities such as walking, running, hiking, roller skating, skateboarding, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing. Amongst simply displaying your heart rate as a basic number, the app additionally provides a colored meter and vZone (Versatile Zone Route Decoding). The vZone feature offers color-coding tracking based on workout attributes: distance, time, hear rate, calories, speed, altitude, and more. The vZone settings contain five adjustable parameters for each general activity and attribute assigned to one of five different colors. Some of the more common fitness app features comprise distance tracking, route tracking, time tracking, calorie 'burn' calculation, activity history, and sharing results through Twitter, Facebook, or email. Further features you may have noticed in other fitness tracking applications would include automatic posting to social networks when you begin a session, plus detailed analysis and realtime tracking using the SporTracker web app. Along with the heartbeat monitoring ability, SporTracker does have a couple more unique perks. Depending on where you carry your iPhone, SporTracker can monitor the number of steps you take or times you pedaled using the iDevice accelerometer. Within the main menu is an easy access emergency button, which will send a distress text message to a phone number of your choice with your current location. It's time for a quick user interface overview. The main menu is your quick navigation system and is designed to be usable with a single finger, comfortable for either left or right-handed users. Within the main menu you can stop, start, or pause the current session, choose iPod songs, adjust your goal, capture and share a photo, video, or route information on a number of different social-networking sites, view previous session information, go to the settings panel, and go to the home screen. Below the heartbeat display is the map-type options contextual menu and to the right of that is the vZone tracking options. The left and right arrows on the sides of the map are used to enable or disable the additional details at the bottom of the screen, and gain access to current and previous session data through numerical displays and graphs. To navigate amongst the different displays just swipe left or right. As you've undoubtedly noticed, SporTracker has a slew of capabilities suitable for almost every physically active person. At some points the app may seem even overwhelming, however, it seems to feel that much more useful as you become further  aware of the steps and the location of all the functionality. SporTracker is compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 running iOS 3.1.3 or later. Water activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and windsurfing may require your iPhone to be protected with a waterproof case such as an Aquapac to avoid damage.
