Firemint's Next Evolution In Mobile Racing: Real Racing 2 HD For iPad Finally Rolls Into The App Store

The anticipated sequel to Firemint's racing simulator for iPad finally hit the App Store late yesterday evening. Real Racing 2 HD enhances the experience with better graphics, better control, plenty of fully licensed cars, expansive career play, and an increased multiplayer capability.
For those that may not recall, Real Racing 2 for iPhone and iPod touch was released nearly three months ago already. Firemint didn't release the iPad version alongside the iPhone version because they had bigger plans for Real Racing 2 HD, requiring a lot more work and time for the project to be completed.
Real Racing 2 HD features 30 officially licensed cars from BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Jaguar, Lotus, McLaren, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Volvo. The list includes American muscle cars like the Chevy Camaro and Corvette to the award-winning and blazing-fast McLaren F1.
The sequel contains more than 10 hours of career play, pushing drivers to perfect their racing skills from courses amongst 15 different locations. Career mode pushes drivers to efficiently succeed in Cup, Head to Head, Championship, Time Trial and Elimination race-types.
Real Racing 2 HD takes multiplayer capabilities to a whole new level, quadrupling the amount of online racers from the previous four to a huge 16 car grid. Get your friends involved or do auto-matchmaking through Game Center. Keep your stats and progress synchronized using Firemint's Cloudcell service, plus make your way up the Game Center leaderboards while you earn those achievements.
Those who will be getting an iPad 2 are in for a big treat -- and not just the fact of having an iPad 2. Firemint has been able to add iPad 2 specific features just in time for the device's launch, utilizing the full potential of the upgraded hardware in Apple's second generation tablet. Gamers running Real Racing 2 HD on an iPad 2 will be stunned with full-screen anti-aliasing, building window reflections, high-detail objects and surfaces, and fully-modeled vehicle interiors, plus the added control precision of the gyroscope.
