Are Opera's Days In The Mac App Store Limited?

March 8, 2011
The popular Web browser, Opera, recently became available in the Mac App Store. However, the application could soon be removed because of the browser's support for BitTorrents, and the fact that it is not built around Safari's WebKit core. While the fact that Opera is not built around Safari's WebKit core is a bad enough crime,  the application is also essentially containing a BitTorrent client. This means that you can use Opera to illegally download files over the Internet - it's basically an application that handles the download, like Transmission or Vuze. Both of these little known "features" of Opera suggest that the application may soon be removed from the Mac App Store. So, watch this space. Opera is currently available to download for free. Let us know if you're a fan of the application in the comments below. [via DownloadSquad]
