Apple has just announced the second generation iPad at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. We’ve included a list of the iPad 2’s features below. However, be sure to keep refreshing the page, because we’re going to be continually updating this article as more news becomes available.
Steve Jobs has just announced that the iPad 2 will feature an "all new design," and that it will include a built in gyroscope, like the iPhone 4. It's 33 percent thinner than the first generation iPad, and is actually thinner than the iPhone 4. Furthermore, the iPad 2 will also come in white. Jobs noted that Apple will be "shipping white from day one."
2011 will be the year of the iPadThe iPad 2 will support both AT&T and Verizon. It weighs 1.3 pounds (as opposed to 1.5 pounds), and it will have the same battery life and - most importantly - will cost the same as the first generation iPad currently does. Apple is also adding HDMI out to the iPad 2, and "Smart Covers" - which we'll have a post on soon. The iPad 2 will also feature front and rear facing video cameras. In iOS 4.3, which the iPad 2 will ship with, Apple has included the Photo Booth app and a FaceTime app. Keep refreshing! As mentioned, we'll be updating this post continually for the next few hours - so keep refreshing the page for more iPad 2 news!
